About D302
Transportation
Given the size of the district and locations of its buildings, school bus transportation of students is extensive. It is not uncommon for students to ride 50-60 minutes one way each day. As required under state law, students who live 1.5 miles or more from their school, or whose walking route contains hazardous circumstances according to criteria of the Illinois Department of Transportation, are bused to school. Given the location of the high school, it is quite common for juniors and seniors to drive to school.
