About D302
Curriculum & Activities
The district's curriculum reflects its mission statement "...to guide and challenge students to acquire the knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to contribute to and successfully participate in a diverse, democratic society." It also reflects the Illinois Learning Standards and each building's school improvement plan. The focus of Kaneland School District is to provide a curriculum with rationale progression of content and skills. This has been a major goal accomplished through the curriculum mapping process.
Test scores are usually at or above state average. This information is available on the District's report card, which can be obtained from each building, the superintendent's office, or the Illinois State Board of Education.

Athletics, Music & the Arts
Kaneland has a long and proud history of excellence in athletics, music and the arts. Kaneland High School is affiliated with the Northern Illinois Big XII.
The middle school offers several extra curricular and athletic activities for students. Additionally, there are several options for exploratory activities within the academic program.
Fine Arts Festival
In 1998, the Kaneland School District conceived and presented its first Fine Arts Festival, a celebration of the arts which strives to encourage young people’s involvement in artistic endeavors and to challenge them to develop their abilities. The Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival is one of just a handful of public school art festivals in the State of Illinois. In 2010, the Festival was awarded the 2010 Public and Community Service Award by the Illinois Alliance for Arts Education. The event combines student and professional visual artists, hands-on workshops, and professional performing artists and groups. The festival annually draws approximately 3,000 students, families, and community members for a day of culture and fun.
