The Kaneland WYSE program was represented at the state competition for the first time in Kaneland's history yesterday. The following students were part of this team.

Kate Dray, Keri Groen, Malory Groen, Nicole Hanlon, Kayley McPhee, Joe Rodriguez, Nathaniel Snyder, Molly Speckman, Brandon Stahl, Ryan Straughn, Ethan Witt and Shannon Woodill. Placing 6th in state was Ethan Witt in Physics. Placing 3rd in state was Kayley McPhee in English. Congratulations to the entire team on a great season!

The goal of the Student-of-the-Term program is to recognize Kaneland High School students who exemplify the type of effort, commitment, character and leadership qualities and academic effort, including achievement, improvement and contributions, that are desired of all Kaneland students. Attention AP English book club members: Our new book is The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and we?ll be meeting on Tuesday, April 24 in the literacy lab to discuss the entire text. Hope you can join us!

Model UN students, there will be a MUN meeting after school on Tuesday in Ms. McHenry's room. We will be discussing next year's officers, the April 21st trip to hear Gorbechev's speech, and our fundraiser. Also, please remember to pick up the pre-sell tickets from either McHenry or Meyer for the baseball concessions fundraiser.

Auditions for the Senior Directed One acts will take place on Wednesday, April 11 right after school in the auditorium. For more information, see Mrs. Rames or Eric Eichelberger, Liz Howie, Kathryn Lanute, Jake Rosko or Jordan Withey.

Have you been putting off ordering a yearbook? If you have, hurry and order soon before we run out! We have a little under 200 yearbooks left to sell, so make sure to order before it's too late. Are you thinking about joining Science Club next year? Come see what we are all about today at 2:55pm in room C117! We will be doing some amazing science demos as well as plan for next year?s activities!

Seniors: Several Scholarships have a deadline coming up.

Kaneland Knights Athletic Boosters Scholarship due Friday, April 13.

Maple Park Lions Scholarship due Monday, April 15.

Elburn Chamber of Commerce due Monday April 23.

All of these scholarships should be turned in to Ms. Mecic in the student services office by the deadline with requested documents.

The Talent show is going to be next Friday night!! April 13!! Plan on being there for this great show! Doors open at 6:00 for you to purchase a ticket. The show will start at 7:00. The cost for everyone is going to be

$ 5. Student Ids will not work.

If you are in the talent show, you need to stop by and see Mrs. Fabrizius this week to sign up for sound checks and to hand in your paperwork. Stop by and see her in B 100.

Try outs for the 2012-2013 KHS Pom squad are next week April 10-12. Try out packets are available in the athletic director?s office as well as on the athletic page for the high school. The second page of the packet must be signed and brought with you on the first day in order to participate. Good Luck!

Prom 2012 is just a month away, and the Junior Class is proud to announce the theme, ?In the Still of the Night?. Prom will be held at NIU in the Duke Ellington Ballroom on May 5th. Pay close attention to the announcements for future information regarding this fabulous evening.

Seniors, remember today is the last day to vote for Prom Court. The court will be announced next Tuesday. Please go onto Konnect and choose your Prom Court nominees Only Seniors can vote and only Seniors can be nominated.

Anyone interested in being a member of Peer Leadership next year, helping with M&M, Freshman Orientation and other activities, should pick up an application from Student Services, the main office, Ms. Trafton or Mr. Markovich.

Attention Juniors & Seniors ? Illinois College will be visiting Kaneland Tuesday, April 10 at noon.

Stop by Student Services to sign up and pick up a pass to visit with them.

Delnor Hospital/Cadence Health is once again looking for volunteers to work in the Orthokids Exercise Program. You can earn GIVE hours for your service. The next session runs April 23-May 31. For more information please see Mrs. Scholl in the high school office.

Reminder to students and athletes ? when leaving the school do not drive down the parking lot of the bus garage or down the drive in front of the middle school. Buses are moving in an out of those areas and we need to avoid accidents. Drive out the back drive to Meredith to get to where you are going.
